Hey, this internet thing is pretty nifty....

The cable installer man was supposed to come today between 1pm and 4pm. He showed up around 7:30 or so. So I was stuck in the living room being extremely bored for about eight hours all told, but it's okay because I'm online now. AND I have cable TV! I turned on the Discovery channel when the cable guy left, and there was my absolute favorite ( Read more... )

Thanks! Me too! My brother has agreed to beta read it, although he's probably already regretting it ha ha, and I think I'm going to just send it out to a publisher after that.

I'm trying to order your book off lulu, although since I can't remember my password it's going to take a few minutes for me to complete the order. But I can't wait to read it!

I'm working on trying to revise it--but now that I have everything fixed, I can't seem to make it into a 6x9 pdf document...

If you want the corrected version, you might want to wait a day or so--I found loooooots of typos and missing punctuation, a few missing words, and lots of extra commas...

I will post a notice when I get the corrections done (if I get them done--I accidentally deleted it once trying--I won't do that again!)

Too late, I already ordered! I'm sure it's fine. Oh, if you're using Cute pdf, which is what Mom and I used to get her book on lulu, we had to go in and actually make a 6x9 category in her page size (if that makes sense), since for some reason there wasn't one.

I love the title of your book, by the way!

that's just what I'm trying to do--but I keep telling it to make it 6x9, and it keeps not doing it... where did you change it--in the "properties"--I click postscript custom size and tell it 6x9... it worked the first time I did it, but now it won't. Is there somewhere else I need to do it?

the first time I had to save it as plain text and start over in Word--putting all the formatting in again fresh--and then it worked but there must be an easier way!

I think I figured out how to do it--at least I got one 6x9 pdf--and when I tried it again, it wouldn't do it again. But I only need one, so I'll call it good! I'm too tired of it to do the actual revision on lulu tonight. So tomorrow, maybe...

I'm glad you (hopefully) got it to work, because I absolutely can't remember how we did it on Mom's computer. It was a sort of seat-of-the-pants operation, as I recall. I think we actually added it to the list in the printer options, but as I don't have a printer on my computer I can't look and see what I've got to jog my memory.

I finally went to the help website, and followed directions that didn't quite match what was really there in the printer folder... and after doing what they told me to do several times, once it worked on the A5 paper size, which is a little under 6x9. that's what my first upload had been (I don't know why it had worked the first time and not when I came back to do it again) and it seemed to work.

I thought if I could get A5 to work again, I ought to be able to get a perfect 6x9, but I never did. I gave up and went with the A5.

You would think, being machines, that computers would be consistent from day to day...
