Hey, this internet thing is pretty nifty....

The cable installer man was supposed to come today between 1pm and 4pm. He showed up around 7:30 or so. So I was stuck in the living room being extremely bored for about eight hours all told, but it's okay because I'm online now. AND I have cable TV! I turned on the Discovery channel when the cable guy left, and there was my absolute favorite show ever, Mythbusters. Life is good.

It's going to take a while for me to catch up with the rest of the world. I feel so out of touch. And I don't have a lot of time for messing around online, either; here's my current schedule:

6 a.m. Jasper wakes me up asking to go out; I let him out and then back in and return to bed
7 a.m. Alarm goes off. Feed dog, let him out again. Pull on shorts and t-shirt and go up to the attic, which I have made into a writing studio, and write for about an hour, then get ready for work.
9 a.m. Leave for work.
9:45 to 6:15 p.m. Work at a stupid horrible temp job that just will not end, but which is paying the bills pretty effectively at the moment.
7 p.m. Arrive home, feed dog, let dog out, change out of work clothes, feed cats, feed self, take dog for walk if it's not too hot, type up whatever I've written during the day (I write on my lunch break too), and the rest of the evening is free ha ha.
10:30 p.m. Get clothes ready for next day, get ready for bed
11 p.m. Watch news until weather, then go to sleep.

So you see, my life is terribly exciting! If I'm feeling extra crazy, I go to the local grocery store and buy bottled water or something equally wacky. On weekends, I see one movie and review it for the paper back at home, which I'm still writing for, and I go to my brother and sister-in-law's house to do my laundry.

Since I don't know anyone here in the Pittsburgh PA area except my brother's family, and they're busy people, most of my free time is spent writing, although sometimes I spin while watching a DVD. Since I moved here in the last week of March, I have written one entire novel (70,000 words, and far and away the best thing I've ever written--I have no doubt I'll get this one published) and I'm about 12,000 words into its sequel. So that's good.

I won't bore anyone further, except to say that I'm actually doing well. I'm very happy with my writing, and there's a knitting group that meets at the library once a month that I'm going to join. I miss Tennessee bitterly, but this change has been very good for me. Every so often, everyone needs to shake things up.
