Tour stuff for NM, AZ, and CA

Dec 09, 2009 20:34

I'm still working on getting actual shows in Santa Fe for January 28th 2010, in Flagstaff for February 4 or 5 2010, in Phoenix for February 5-7 2010, and in or around Los Angeles for February 18-20. If you'd like to help me out by suggesting a place to play, or if you'd like to connect me with awesome people in any of those towns (big thanks to all of you who've already done so, the seeds are all sprouting so beautifully), please read on.

Some stuff to keep in mind:

1. When suggesting a place where you think I'd enjoy playing, keep in mind that I do not do shows in bars. What I need are smoke-free spaces where I can perform to people who are listening to the music I'm making, not talking over it or watching the game. This is why I often look instead for a rentable UU church or community space, an outdoor festival, or a house concert. Bookstores are ok too. Bookstores with coffee shops in them are ok--if they're anything like SoulFood in Redmond Washington, so much the better. Little coffee shops or wine bars would be at the bottom of my ok list, but go ahead and suggest your favorites if you have any--I'm getting to the end of my tour-booking window for January and February, so I'm going to be less exacting.

2. We're planning to be at Pantheacon in SF on Feb. 12-15, but they haven't yet let us know whether or not they say yes to our concert proposal with Sharon Knight. Come As You Are Coven has invited me to be musical in one of their Wake Up To Spirit rituals, and I'm looking forward to that. Sacred Well, my favorite Oakland store, will be vending at PantheaCon, and they will carry my albums while we're there.

3. California folks, I've gotten lots of wonderful things confirmed in San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland, and San Diego, and I have some great suggestions to work on for Berkeley. I have shows in the works for Los Angeles/Pasadena, but nothing is confirmed yet. If anyone knows of good spaces or willing house concert hosts in that part of SoCal, please leave me a comment. Those of you who are already working on helping me get a concert together, you have my undying gratitude! ebony_sphynx and memnus and also catnip13 and cadhla I am looking at you with a big grin.

4. California fans and friends, if we haven't already been in contact with you, please let us know if you'd like us to visit or try to get a show together where you are.

5. Anyone in Santa Fe, Flagstaff or Phoenix whom I've missed, please give a holler. I haven't found confirmed places to give a concert in your area yet, so anywhere wonderful that you can suggest is a big help. I do have a couple of balls rolling for Phoenix, but I want to cover all of my bases. Thanks so much for all the AZ and NM help I've already gathered up! yarrowkat and gafferbear and csecooney and others, you are making magic on my behalf, and I love you for it.

I have made a good bit of headway filling up 2009 so far, largely due to help offered and leads given here on LJ in comments--thanks so much, you guys. If you'd like to see the tour schedule as it is now, go here. It has lots of holes, but not for long!
