that was lovely. I really enjoyed the way you built the tension of having Tsuyoshi waiting at the door...and flashbacking through the other member's reactions...and then showing why he was afraid to open this door. Really nicely done characterisations, great pacing and a very sweet end. Well done.

Tsuyoshi. ;.; Another wonderful piece of work here. ♥ You did a good job of developing Tsuyoshi's nervousness, showing how his and Takuya's relationship used to be versus how it is now -- which I think adds that extra level of meaning, because it was the need for approval/fear of letting him down, rather than fear of getting yelled out. It really oriented the reader to how Tsuyoshi was feeling, thus adding to the suspense for us, too, as to what the reaction would be -- even with the support the other members had given along the way -- and that made the acceptance at the end all the more sweet. ♥

Tsuyoshi and Takuya's relationship has always fascinated me because (to me personally anyway) I feel like it is one of the relationships that has evolved most over the years. The amazing part is, the both of them didn't even change or compromise on their own personalities to get along. It's just that their receptiveness and acceptance towards each other changed, which adds to the depth and complexity of their relationship/friendship.

Of course, these are just the imaginings of a very obsessed fangirl :P

Ah, I loved this! The details about Tsuyoshi's emotions, how he thinks about everyone in SMAP...I doubt even now he's forgiven himself, and it's interesting to see your version of Tsuyoshi's thoughts. The gentleness from his teammates coming through the bitterness works so well ♥ And SMAP!FIC! Heee, that's always something to dance about.

It always seemed to me that the most lasting emotional hurt Tsuyoshi felt during this time did not stem from the actual reprecussions to his own reputation/career (although he did go through a very torturous personal journey). Rather, it seemed to come from the fact that he had dragged the Members along into it with him. I think I remember him saying once, "I will not make them [SMAP] lower their heads for me ever again." It felt like, to Tsuyoshi, it didn't matter if he had to apologise for a mistake, but he couldn't forgive himself for the fact that he had not only disappointed his Members and dragged them into it, but also put them in the line of fire for attacks and criticisms, and unintentionally put them in the position where they had to take the fall with him.

Oh my... Sorry for the ramblings. Looks like that looooong fanfic hasn't quite exhausted all my emotions regarding the incident. Haha... Of course, these are all just personal opinions. ;D
