So last night, I drank quite a bit of vodka...I'm surprised there is any left. Alex told me to not take this personally, but this is the first election that I have voted in where my candidate did not win. It's a very odd feeling because it does feel like I failed. To me it was the Florida BCS Bowl again where McCain was in the lead at the beginning

As for how I can relate to Obama? I'm a parent of two girls. I started life in a one room basement apartment where my parents had to literally shake change out of the couch cusions to get enough money to buy a can of condensed milk to feed me. I grew up with enough to get by, and eventually, we did pretty good for ourselves.

So, I have some in common with him. I have some in common with McCain. I served in the armed forces, I beleive in personal responsibility, and I think that the government should have a safety net, not be a replacement parent.

In the end, what I had in common with them individually was not as important as what I beleive they will do for the country as a whole, which is solely the criteria upon which my vote was based.

That quote is because it's Sarah Palin's stand, but since Palin didn't run for office it had to go under McCain's name. Because if you look at McCain's history he has always supported Roe v. Wade.

But I say kudos to your reason for voting for him, that's a lot more than what most people voted for him on.

Doing a little further digging. McCain's got a pro life voting record as long as his time in congress. Further, during the primary debates, before he had the nomination, before he even picked a running mate, he stated that he was for a repeal of Roe V. Wade.

That's not Palin, that's McCain.
