Just this. This one statement pretty much sums up the one thing I find many Xians have wrong.
"Christianity doesn't make you special. It should make you humble."
I think if everyone figured that one out, we'd be making progress by leaps and bounds.

I reckon you are on the right path to figuring out what it all means. Keep thinking, reading, pondering and expressing your thoughts. You will find your community, but it might be in a different form to what you expect.
