Woman and Scarecrow - Also, moar fic

Oct 24, 2010 01:41

My sleep schedule is all messed up from staying up super late yesterday to go to a play with some girls from playwriting class. Saw "Woman and Scarecrow" an Irish feminist black comedy. "Woman" lays in her death bed, and "Scarecrow", a woman no one can see but woman (possibly a guardian spirit of some kind), stays by her side. They talk about Woman's life, her neglectful husband, her children, her old affairs, and important things like shoes. It's hilarious, and tragic at the same time. The location is amazing, the Denver Victorian Playhouse, a playhouse from the 1800s in an old mansion, where every Shakespeare play was performed, the first place to do that west of the Mississippi. It's really beautiful, the actors were amazing, and it's totally Halloween themed, as a monster lurks in the shadows, waiting to take Woman's soul when she dies. It's a black comedy, and twisted and dark and hilarious. Tickets are $20, go if you have the chance - it's playing till the end of October.

Also, I have a new chapter of "Come and Dance With Me" almost done. Look for it soon. :3

Now for sleepy-times.
