Friends, go change your passwords and log out. Check your email management page and make sure all the addresses listed are yours. If you can't select and delete old addresses, don't panic - it's a confusing thing where they store old addresses for archive reasons, but don't actually use them.
If you want to disable JavaScript, you can change your Site Options to use the original LJ interface without the dropdown hover menus (Dystopia).
*sighs* What a PITA - who can remember all the damned passwords we need anymore? At least LJ is doing something about it. It's impossible to say what Neopets is doing, if anything...
