01 I’ve become kind of obsessed with searching out and studying lists compiling the best albums of 2005. Already. And there is still one entire month left. For the past several weeks I’ve been scrutinizing over mine to compact it to twenty albums while constantly stuffing my ears with new stuff I have to hear before the deadline

yeah, when i respond to your email (!) i'll attach my essay about stars of the lid to it. seriously... their music is taking over my life.
more livejournals? hope you don't mind if i hunt that down and add you.

That livejournal is personal - no-one but me can read it. Oh, and it's in Danish anyway. Otherwise -- sure you could have added me.
And: Don't you know anything I've liked so far this year? You don't have any idea? My list is probably my hardest year-list to guess so far (for people who've tried to guess them over the last few years). At least last year, you knew I had Devendra, the Collective, Joanna, Wilco, Arcade Fire etc. Well -- that will just make it even more interesting to hear your guesses!

Well, after thinking for awhile, here are my guess on what will be on your year end list:
Sigur Ros - Takk
Caribou - The Milk of Human Kindness
Cocorosie - Noah’s Ark
The Skygreen Leopards - Life and Love in the Sparrow's Meadow
Désormais - Dead Letters to Lost Friends
Animal Collective & Vashti Bunyan - Prospect Hummer / Feels
Greg Davis & Sebastien Roux - Paquet Surprise
Brian McBride - When the Detail Lost its Freedom
Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
Boards of Canada - The Campfire Headphase
That was tough, because I could be WAY off, but I thought I'd at least venture a guess. Your turn!
By the way, if you haven't heard this album, I highly suggest you check it out. I think you'd really like it: "Yha Hamaraa" by Paavoharju.

brian mcbride is one half of stars of the lid. his solo record just came out on kranky and is kind of like sotl-lite -- more song based. very solid release as well.
i'm kind of surprised by your list thus far as well. there's several releases i haven't even heard of either. can't wait for the top ten.
yeah, paavoharju are finnish... they kind of make folk-ish music with electronics. really gorgeous though -- i think you'd definitely take a liking to it.
