01 I’ve become kind of obsessed with searching out and studying lists compiling the best albums of 2005. Already. And there is still one entire month left. For the past several weeks I’ve been scrutinizing over mine to compact it to twenty albums while constantly stuffing my ears with new stuff I have to hear before the deadline

great to hear from you! yeah, you definitely described 'in the bedroom' very accurately. very similar to how it made me feel. it was one of those films that i've been meaning to see for awhile, and seeing it on your list reminded me of it. so, thank you!

I know. Tired Sounds of... is incredible. I really love it. I cannot think of another piece of music that returns the same overwhelming wave of warmth as Tired Sounds, when given the right attention.

That livejournal is personal - no-one but me can read it. Oh, and it's in Danish anyway. Otherwise -- sure you could have added me.

And: Don't you know anything I've liked so far this year? You don't have any idea? My list is probably my hardest year-list to guess so far (for people who've tried to guess them over the last few years). At least last year, you knew I had Devendra, the Collective, Joanna, Wilco, Arcade Fire etc. Well -- that will just make it even more interesting to hear your guesses!

By the way, if you haven't heard this album, I highly suggest you check it out. I think you'd really like it: "Yha Hamaraa" by Paavoharju.

'paquet surprise' disappointing? wow, i think the album is absolutely great. it's pretty high on my list. i'm hesitant to say it, but i think it may very well be davis' best full-length yet. it really combines a lot of the diverse styles he uses on individual projects into one cohesive album. i definitely recommend you check that out.

brian mcbride is one half of stars of the lid. his solo record just came out on kranky and is kind of like sotl-lite -- more song based. very solid release as well.

i'm kind of surprised by your list thus far as well. there's several releases i haven't even heard of either. can't wait for the top ten.

yeah, paavoharju are finnish... they kind of make folk-ish music with electronics. really gorgeous though -- i think you'd definitely take a liking to it.

Well, I kind of wanted to check Paquet Surprise out, but never really got the time. And when Sille said it was a bit boring I just got away from it. But I'll check it out, sure
