i'm watching colby's graduation and anna quindlen was the speaker. she was amazing and inspiring. just a few words from her talk:
"it is fear that always taps down our authentic selves"
"the voices of conformity speak so loudly out there. don't listen."
"no one ever does the right thing from fear, and so many wrong things are done in its shadow" (i love this)
"most of our leaders are leaders in name only" (i bet the trustees were cringing!)
"what's the point of free speach if we're always afraid to speak freely"
"if we fear competing viewpoints...that's not civility at all..." (i wonder if bro was listening?)
"open your mouths. speak your piece. fear not." (i really needed to hear this)
with her speech and francis' speach, i'm super inspired :-)
