Hey sports fans
Sorry about the lack of update yesterday. Initially I had intended on maintaining this journal until my website was up and well, it's up. The site is not really functional however so, on request, I will continue posting here. This past weekend Kevin came to town. I think we went to just about every Asian district in the city, Chinatown, Japan town, and Clement.
Ever since I moved here I've been meaning to go to the cartoon art museum and this weekend I finally got around to it. It was rather small, but it had a couple good pieces in it. My favorites were probably the original blue-line work of this Bloom County strip on understanding comics, and some bond-paper frames from some seminal Windsor McKay animations.
The highlight of the weekend was by far the Raiders/Broncos game. I think I could be a Raiders fan. I figure being loyal to a team because of their logo and colors is just as good as any because really, those are the only attributes that remain consistent with the team. Anyway, we tailgated before hand and that was the bomb. We parked right next to this tractor-trailer that had rows of 2x4s loaded on it that had "Fuck Broncos" spray-painted on the side of it. In the end, we got rained on hard-core and ended up leaving at the end of the 3rd quarter (30-3 broncos, no points scored after we left) but it was fun as hell anyway.
Kevin and I also did some drawing as well the product of which can be seen on the Bombunists forum. In that vein, I will conclude this update with a picture I drew for Todd's site but probably wont get used given the site's new design.
