I hope the entirity of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya will be available at AN, 'cause I wanna buy it knowing that my previous attitude of 'I hate series that are only 13 episodes long' no longer matters. Haruhi is definitly getting a second season, which will likely fall closest in line with the what I think is the fourth novel, The Vanishment of Haruhi Suzumiya.
See, in the past I hate getting invested in shows that have such a short run because I can grow attached to the characters and become despondant that I can enjoy them for such little time. tMoHS is absolutely wonderful, the story is engaging and the characters are so easy to love, so I was always sad to think the show was only 14 episodes long (that's counting the 00 episode The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina) Now I can rejoice that the show will go on and that the novels are all being translated as well.
...and I must say, the dubbing for Haruhi is definitly above par. I think it's one of those rare cases where the dub is in no way inferior to the original, which is saying a lot.
