I tried to go shopping today on my own. It went quite smoothly until they asked if I have some sort of reward card. I immediately froze as my brain tried to put together a sentence that would be passible for the situation. The check out clerk probably saw the fear in my face and she just took my money. I didn't think it would be so hard to buy some milk and orange juice.
I wanted to buy some bread for toast but then I remembered that there isn't a microwave or toaster in this house. Oh well.
Just as long as you stick to the Korean fare, meals seem to be very reasonably priced. I've been doing pretty good in terms of staying on budget.
I really want to go to uniqlo and buy some clothes though.
I wish I could have gotten another smart phone for my Korean phone, but instead I got a hand-me-down that has a barely working touch screen and is probably 3 or so years old. Maybe I'll swap it out for a base-level flip phone, it would be easier to type out text messages on those at least... Or maybe I shouldn't be a spoiled brat and be grateful I have something to use.
Tomorrow is orientation, and I'll get my class assignments. I'll be disappointed in myself if I'm put in level 1, but to be honest that's probably where I belong. I'm barely a step ahead of some people, and it might be better for me to start over than to try to pick it up as I go along.
Visited a small arcade a stop down from where my current apt is. Had like 12 Tekken machines and a few music games. No IIDX / DDR, but had jubeat, reflect beat, and djmax. Played a few then peaced out.
I started an instagram as a quick way to upload photos I take while I'm out in Korea. Check them out!
