"Smoky eyes"
I am heartened by the number of cosmetics that now show instructions for the "smoky eyes" look.
Last year I attended a really good workshop on this; I wish I'd taken notes, as, reviewing the handouts, I see that they aren't as clear as they could be.
I picked up an "e.l.f." eyeshadow box that packages the shadows inside covers of a book, with basic instructions. The instructions are merely OK, but combined with my memories of the workshop, I think I finally nailed the smoky eyes for the first time ever last night.
The selection of eyeshadows contains no less than three shades of silver, and a really good black. They go on beautifully, though it's going to be very important to keep the black the heck away from any of the other colors. Not sure how well they stay on; they may need to be powdered.
But overall I'm quite pleased.
