Student interviews yesterday and today - more on that later. First...
* Oh dear. I seem to have done it again. It was supposed to be a water bottle carrier...
...but I seem to have knit the Penis Cozy of Rassilon.
::cough:: No worries. It's too big for my bottles, but I did it in wool so if that happened, I could felt it. (That's why it's odd colors, they were the only leftovers of wool I had. From one of my Doctor Who scarves, actually.) Hopefully that will make it a little, um, cozier.
* Stargate Atlantis: I heart Ronon, and here's why:
he sees Sheppard, Rodney, Teyla, and HIMSELF lying dead on the floor--while he is talking to Sheppard, Rodney and Teyla--and would you know it? No, because his reaction is as if he just found a stray bucket of green Jell-o. Does Not Freak Out. May get frustrated with his lack of Luke Skywalker-like ability to bullseye swamp rats in the canyon back home, but otherwise unflappable.
* As a child who used tools, built stuff, carried a knife, went exploring alone and didn't wear a bicycle helmet, I love the idea of
this camp. From a parent-type perspective, it's a little scary, but as long as I trusted the director I think I'd still go for it. Though I might ask that my child call me once a day!

Researchers have discovered a previously unknown population of 125,000 western lowland gorillas in a remote region of the Congo. That's more than the previously estimated worldwide population. I welled up a little when I heard about this over breakfast. We do NOT know everything about our world! There's more to discover.
