This sunflower on campus caught my eye this afternoon. Out in the ditches and woods edges, the goldenrod is blooming.

This evening during my daily unplanned nap, I was on my side and Memphis came up and snuggled up with his back right against my back. The weather wasn't really cool enough for that kind of contact, but it was sweet. And pretty comfortable.

I keep meeting a guy on the walking trail with his four three-pound chihuahuas off leash. Sure they're obedient & friendly to other dogs, but what about when they run up to that mastiff who isn't? Won't someone think of the tiny morsels?
