Dinosaurs: now in color! Scientists can analyze well-preserved fossilized feathers and, by the shape of the melanosomes, determine what color the feathers were in life. They've decided that the most primitive feathered dinosaur known, Sinosauropteryx, was a redhead. :)

How have I had my Torchwood DVDs this long and never listened to the commentaries? I'm not sure I realized they existed, because they're under Setup and not Special Features. Anyway...

Of course I've heard the story of the Torchwood cast staying in a haunted hotel while they filmed "Countrycide," and how Eve and John ended up cuddling in bed together because one of them got spooked. The way Eve tells it in the "Day One" commentary, John was the one who knocked, she answered the door all groggy, in a tee-shirt and undies, and he asked for a [Welsh word that means snuggle], so she took off his socks and they got all (friendly) comfy in bed. What I had never heard, but Eve emphasizes, is that he was wearing Transformer pajamas. Ironed Transformer pajamas.

::♥ ♥ ♥ Eve and John and everything about that story::

Looking at local weather forecasts, everyone here is hoping for a snow/ice day on Friday. Everyone except me: I want to be able to get safely to the farm for Ladybug's birthday celebration and give her the scarves. Already up north in the state they're iced over and lighting candles and kerosene heaters.
