32 | Confusion
They spend a month apart because Braden wants to train with his coach over the summer and the night he gets a text from Michal practically begging him to come back, it sends him into a frenzy because Michal just doesn’t ask things like this of him, and it isn’t fair that he’s doing it now.
33 | Fear
He doesn’t mean to do it, but the increased stress of the playoffs makes Braden sloppy- it makes him worry less about others and more about him and when Michal cries out from pain instead of pleasure he freezes because the thought of hurting Michal terrifies him more than losing any competition.
34 | Thunder
When Avengers comes out in theaters, Michal goes to see it three times and normally Braden wouldn’t be too worried, but the fact that the background of Michal’s computer has been changed from a picture of them on vacation to a picture of Thor, he starts to think this might become an issue.
35 | Bonds
Over the course of a few months, Braden goes from being an intruder in Michal’s apartment to part of the family- he can tell because Michal’s dog has taken to napping with him on the couch before games, paw thrown over his middle and all.

Shopping is awkward mostly because they always end up bickering in the middle of whatever store they chose to go to, but also because it sheds light on the fact that their relationship has become so painfully domestic and a lot more serious than either of them ever truly intended.
37 | Technology
Braden loves his computer more than he should because when he’s on the road, it’s the only lifeline he has between him and Michal because God Forbid Michal ever pick up his phone to respond with anything longer than a one liner.
38 | Gift
Braden purposes pretends to forget Michal’s birthday until after dinner- it makes surprising him all the more special.

He wakes up laughing, with fingers dancing along his middle and a hot mouth pressed to his chest, and Michal’s smiling face is the first thing he sees- it’s the only thing he needs to see.
40 | Innocence
They’re sitting at a bar (not close enough to look intimate- they’re not ready for that sort of publicity) when a girl leans over and slides Michal her number with a coy smile and Braden can do little more than laugh it off because Michal turns as red as a tomato and suddenly forgets how to speak English.
41 | Completion
Michal leaves and for the first time, Braden feels what it is to be torn apart.

The roof is good for sunny days too, for when Braden brings home a bottle of wine and they lay on a blanket and find shapes in the clouds before making love under the wide, blue sky.
43 | Sky
There are very few things Braden hates more than flying (the shakiness of the plane, the bad food, cramped toilets, the small leg space, not to mention that they’re in a multi-ton metal aircraft suspended in a whole lot of nothing) but it helps that Michal’s sitting next to him to hold his hand.
44 | Heaven
When Michal’s grandmother dies, Braden doesn’t know what to say or do except that she’s in a better place- but it’s hard to be convincing when the idea of an afterlife isn’t something he’s ever put much stock in until now.
45 | Hell
Braden wants to get down on his knees and apologize (he was drunk, she came onto him, it was just once and he doesn’t even remember it very well, it will never, ever happen again) even though he knows it won’t make Michal any less angry at him- he’s made his bed and now he has to sleep in it.
46 | Sun
The summer brings heat, vacation, long walks on the beach and mint mojitos- all of which are great, but Braden’s favorite part comes on the lazier days, when he can take his time with every inch of Michal’s sun-kissed skin and and demonstrate just how much he loves him.
47 | Moon
Michal likes to walk around naked on the weekends and Braden doesn’t complain because there’s nothing he would enjoy more than to kick back and watch his lover show off the goods.
48 | Waves
One of the most aggravating things about Michal is his ability to take something small and blow it out of proportion, a little like ripples from a pebble turned haywire, and sometimes Braden wants to scream and yell right back at him- and the only thing stopping him is the fact that Michal would never forgive him for it.
49 | Hair
Braden lets his hair grow out for playoffs, a decision he’s rather pleased with himself for because otherwise, he (with the help of Michal of course) would never have realized that he really, really likes having his hair pulled.
50 | Supernova
If the world really is ending in 2012, then Braden figures the best thing to do is take advantage of every minute they have together- which is why he chooses Michal’s twenty-fourth birthday as the perfect date to get down on one knee and make the proposal of a lifetime.
