Having read 'Twilight' and 'New Moon', I have nothing to do, but wait for the release of 'Eclipse'. For me it's very hard to do. All of you who read my journal know that if there were a competition in waiting I would defenitely lose. Anyway, I was wondering what are the chances of the main characters to be happy forever? The thing that Bella desires most is to become imortal (vampire), so she could spend eternity with he beau Edward. Throughout two novels Stephenie Meyers mentions Romeo and Juliet. In the second book Bella compares herself with Juliet, Edward with Romeo, and her best werewolf friend (who is in love with her) with Paris. As we all know, The Lovers die in the end. Possibly, things went past that stage because he had already been under musapprehention that she were dead. She saved him from comitting suicide and it seems that everything should be lovey dovey. The odds are stacked against them... I really want them to survive, but just like with Harry Potter, the more I think about it, the more I believe that both books are most likely to have a tragic end... How sad...
The was just a preface of sorts. Love described in these novels, let's call it Shakepearean Love, does it ever happen in real life? I mean what are the odds of meeting your true and only love, the person who makes your heart either pound thousand times faster or makes it stop, who gives you hugest butterflies? Is it even possible to be able find your soulmate out of 6 some billions people? Is it possible to experince love that would overcome all borders? Can one find a fairy tale or are we all doomed to fall in love with the wrong people and experince only a small fracture of the feelings we are capable of? Why can't life be as simple as fairy tale? Why can't there be Happily Ever After for each of us?
