HOMECOMING 'O6...and other annoying junior year things such as MYS chair tests and SAT's.

Oct 14, 2006 22:06

So. I officially HATE junior year. I'm so incredibly busy. aaaarg. Well, I took my MYS chair test and that was quite interesting. The conducter just went down the line and we played an excerpt. Well, I played horribly...rather explainable for like two days worth of practice. But, haha...I was definitely not the only one. One girl played everything correctly...in tune, etc. Everybody else basically had varying degrees of horribleness...I mean, some people were pretty good...you could tell the second half from the first half of the orchestra...anyhow it certainly made me a lot less nervous...I didn't even mind playing in front of people...but, seriously, there was one excerpt full of accidentals and everybody played it different. There were like a bajillion variations of a high F#. I think the conductor was rather dissappointed...you could definitely tell that my stand partner completely sight read that excerpt- so, at least I practiced, right? ...and we didn't have enough time to play all of the excerpts...haha...the one excerpt I could play, I didn't play well. Drats. And, I found out that there was an excerpt I didn't know about...haha...so I practiced that like five minutes before chair auditions... I think I may have beaten four people...and like five people just didn't show up...so who knows, I may not be last chair after all...although I kind of like sitting in the back- I get to sit near the harpists! We have two of them! sweet stuff. I want to play harp now. :)
So, then after chair tests I had to go get ready for homecoming! woot! My dress was magenta this year...not exactly something I would usually wear, but it was cheap...I didn't have much money to spend. And, since my hair is soo short, I didn't know what to do with it...haha...I think I looked really young this homecoming like 14 or something...dunno why...and I think I liked last year's homecoming more...but I danced a lot and had fun! It was exciting...we went to Shoguns for dinner...so that was cool...I like to dance. Then, on Sunday it was my Dad's B-Day...so we had guests over...also exciting...to some extent...
                   * Oooh, and on the bright side, I got eight chair in Symphony orch!!! woot! woot!....I don't deserve it though....I should definitely be behind Charlie...he's really good...but, I'm happy- in the sense that Gigi won't blow a fuse! :) ...oh, and I also figured out that it would probaby be useful to stay awake in trig...I have a C...hahahaha. What a boring class...seriously.
....and then...came the dreaded SAT II's...in my case, for American History...ahhh...I thought that I would NEVER have to study anything related to U.S. History...how very wrong I was...I HATE U.S. HISTORY!!!!! I crammed like five centuries worth of history into my head in less than a week...not to mention that I had to work on Wednesday (I skipped working on Thursday and Friday) and was very busy on Monday and Tuesday...so I skipped school Friday to study *feels incredibly lame*...I should've stayed home during the day of the alleged bombing of the school...I came in for orchestra though...just in case Benes was electing orchestra council. So, I studied like 24/7...or at least attempted to...so, yesterday night, before the test, I stayed up to 4:30 in the morning attempting to cram the entire 20th century into a night of studying...mm...didn't work as well as it should've...but, luckily the test didn't have that many questions on the 20th century...But, I never got around to actually practicing for the test- so during the exam today I ran out of time...figures..hahaha...but I had to study the concept! I completely forgot all of American History as soon as I finished taking that AP in May. So, the lady's all like "five minutes left!" and I completely freaked out...I was on like question 65 out of 90...haha. But, by the time we stopped I had only five questions left...so...that should be interesting...I don't think I did too well. And that would be quite unfortunate because there is no way in hell I'm retaking the test...NO...I refuse to study anymore American History. AHHHH. I want an 800 on that test. seriously. haha...my dad went insane when I told him that I didn't finish the test...
Oh...and then, I had to go to MYS rehearsal, but I actually enjoyed it today...shorter rehearsal...and I'm starting to really like our music...and our conducter is kind of cool in a weird way...I like him though...he says the weirdest things...but I appreciate that...and then I had to work...euh...today all I did was sweep...not exciting at all...what a long day...and then...wait for it...best part ever...I SLEPT...finally! I got some sleep...I enjoy sleeping. A lot. haha...well, next week, I'll be taking PSAT's...should be fun *said sarcastically*

woot! woot!

***So, anybody know if colleges see all of the SAT's you take....or just the best ones/most recent ones....???
