I've just checked the most recent version of the definitive list, i.e. Russell's Hottest 131.
I'll admit, it's 5 years old now, a bunch of new stuff has been released since. Still, here's how it adds up.
Total songs: 131
Total Female Vocals: 38 (29%)
Total Bands with Female Members (not counting vocals): 20 (15%)
Total Bands with Female Members: 58 (44%)
