IT IS DONE
i actually said, under my breath, as i handed in my last paper about 24 hours ago, "into thy hands i commend my spirit". but i have done it! i have survived my first semester of grad school! i am 1/4 of the way to my MA! and, um, 1/10th of the way to my PhD? i'd rather not think about that, so i won't. but it is nice to have a few weeks off before the grind resumes again.
i have a backlog of amusing stories, with the keywords 'rubber chicken', 'walking into wall and sleeping on the street', and 'sideburns', but they'd take longer to tell than i feel like typing for. it's been an... entertaining few months, let's say.
christmas will be TEH AWESOME. i haven't started any of my shopping yet because the places of trade around here are insane, at any and all times of day, and i just don't feel like dealing with them. this is misfortunate, since the big day is in six days. i just can't be bothered, really, though i think i'll take a stab at it on friday. i'm going skiing tomorrow morning because i can, and because i find it a perfectly cromulent procrastinatory tool.
i'll be heading north into the nexus of stupid family drama (and it could really be a doozy this year) on monday and will likely stay until wednesday or thursday, if anyone wants to hang out. uh, and stuff.
okay, well, i have to go find more ways to waste time before heading off to a basketball game. i at least got my shelves dusted this afternoon; that has to count for something, right? (right!)
