Last Friday, fresh back from the Tech Boot Camp that the state of GA was nice enough to send me to (no sarcasm there - beautiful area, nice facilities, good food, and very friendly folks, I enjoyed myself), I got a patron asking for some help.

Today at work, XO and I alone circulated almost 2x as many items and checked out 30% more computers than we did on Friday, in 2 hours less and with three less staff (not counting Boss) than we had Friday.

Go us. *collapses*

Yes, I know, I'm a librarian, not a teacher. Being a librarian is more than just checking books in and out. Today, it was about trying to teach seniors how to use a computer.

This was the first week of our first four-week computer class, and it was a comedy of errors.

I mentioned that yesterday I had a tough one. A guy came to the library and asked one of the other librarians to help him find some movies so he could buy them.
