Took the afternoon off to finish up some housework and pick up Mom at the airport. Turned into a bit of a lick-and-a-promise cleanup, because I was too damn lazy to work properly this weekend, but oh well

And if I can get the freelance thing going, I'll have somewhere that I can bring clients, even. (That's one reason I want a futon in there - I can have clients sit on the futon, me on my working chair, and it'll be all nice and professional-looking. ;) )
Of course, if the freelance thing doesn't take off soon, I won't have to worry about how to set things up in there because I won't own the place anymore. Damn budget cuts. :(
Right now my "studio" is a converted closet that I had intended to use as a meditation room. And it's stuffed with Mom's stuff, so it's not very relaxing. If I get the art stuff out of there, I'll have room for relaxation and meditation that isn't the middle of my bedroom, which isn't really set up with a suitable space for that.
Add the space to spread out (and no carpet to worry about - paint is easier to clean off wood floors than carpet, and I can set up a rug underneath to catch any spills) and I think I'll be a happy camper. And the cats will be even happier, since I'll be leaving the room open all the time, and it's got the best sunlight in the house.
