[OOC: We don't get these kind of posts often so just a clarification - this is not a dream, but a RECAP. A recording of what happened earlier that day, because iirc the Dreamberries can also fully record and play a person's entire day. Focused around Gil, but not first person, and the camera NEVER pans towards the back.
This is also a bit like an action movie but I fail at fast-paced action so plz bear with me, T-T;]
Streaming sand.
Sand as far as the eye can reach, from the left, the right, and the front. The raging, accompanying wind is the only thing that can be heard. Visibility for any normal human is awful, and yet, it was impossible for anyone's eyes to not be attracted by the golden figure that was dashing through with inhuman speed, tailed by his red cape that could only be seen as a flurry of crimson. The treacherous sandstorm did little to slow him down - in fact, he was going so fast that it was almost a mere blur to human eyes-
And a sudden halt. There is enough time to notice that the man with spiky blond hair is clad in
dazzling golden armor, though he is sporting a fierce frown of anger and annoyance as he quickly backstepped from the spot that he, merely a split second ago, stood on.
It was not a moment too soon, for a gigantic sandworm at least ten times his size suddenly busted through that very spot. Screeching victoriously once, as in an early celebration of encountering a sure prey in a place as desolate as this, it wildly swung its head once, showing at least three rows of mowing, circular teeth.
"MOVE ASIDE, WORM!" It was pointless to shout, but the sheer venom in his furious tone was still clearly audible through to intimidate any audience lacking a solid backbone. The sandworm, obviously ignorant of speech, replied with another screech, and without further idling, dived straight for the golden man on the ground.
The assault was not dodged. For the mere reason that no attempt at dodging was made - no, rather, instead of getting out of the way, Gilgamesh leaped FORWARD to meet the sandworm's charge heads-on, and it should be a surprise to no one as the beast clamped its monstrous mouth shut the moment its target jumped in so willingly to meet its assured doom.
Inactivity fell upon the desert once more, setting aside the still-raging sandstorm. A natural consequence, one would agree, that would derive from such a foolish action.
And for a second, that would have appeared to be the outcome.
That is, if a sudden burst of insanely powerful energy didn't just directly shoot out from the back of its head, literally tearing apart any skin or bones, and blowing out the creature's brains. From that huge explosion of crimson mess, one golden bullet shot through to land effortlessly onto the ground, utterly unscratched from being swallowed with a single bite by the sandworm. In his hand, he held one
lone drill sword, and while it was not spinning, the red runes carved onto it were still faintly glowing.
The respite allowed the camera to focus on his face - pure disgust and annoyance. This worm made him waste time. This shall NOT be forgiven.
And as if blowing apart the worm's brains wasn't enough, and its frantic squirming didn't indicate the end of its life, an
unbelievably huge amount of weapons began to appear behind him, through sinister-looking ripples from the very space that surrounded him. Counting them was impossible - there were at least a hundred. Yet that was not it. In his hands, the drill sword has disappeared. A blood-red lance now took its place, and with narrowed eyes, the golden warrior spared no time to aim as he thrust the lance towards the creature’s general direction.
With the lance thrown, the other weapons behind him fire as well. All at the same time. These weapons proved themselves to be obviously abnormal, as they easily pierced and cut through the creature as a hot knife would do to butter. The most impressive weapon, however, would have to be that lance - for as soon as it was thrown, to the naked eye, it seemed to have ricocheted towards several impossible angles in flashes of crimson as fast as lightning, before piercing the sandworm midway between its head and belly.
The sudden sharpening of its screech is clear indication that, unlike the rest of the deadly rain of weapons that only harmed its flesh, the lance has pierce through something fatal - the heart, to be exact. The deafening racket of pain tore through the continuous sandstorm, but it quickly died down as the monster's vocal cords began to catch up with its pierced heart. With one last feeble swing, it heavily fell onto the ground, raising a huge cloud of sand that was then blown away as soon as it was set up.
Letting lose a mere "tch", he raced on.
[Several other clips then follow this one - it seemed to be a compilation. They're all quite short, but time definitely passed as the footages wore on - a land shark, another worm, smaller this time, a pair of lizardmen, several land sharks - any matter of hostile desert beast. They were all definitely dangerous, and despite the apparent fact that none would succeed in stopping the King of Heroes, whose strength seemed to be truly infinite, his armor WAS beginning to lose its shine, and while he did not lessen the full force of his assaults, to anyone attentive, they WERE growing more desperate. Still, he raged on, mercilessly slaughtering anything in his way, fueled by some divine fury that could not be understood.
The sandstorm came and went. Day came and went. Night came and went. Time meant very little - actually, the only way to keep track would be the small, flashing light of numbers on the corner of the Dreamberry’s screen, displaying the date - five consecutive days, ranging from August 19th to August 25th.
And then, finally, it stops on August 26th - today’s date.]
The sandstorm has stopped for a while now. In fact, the sun was beginning to dim too - how long has he been out here? He wouldn’t be able to tell. He hasn’t touched his Dreamberry ever since he left Somni, right after his declaration of murdering painfully and slowly whoever who was responsible for the disappearance of his crown jewel.
And there he was now, staring out at a scenery that, contrasted to what he has rushed through during the past few days, seemed much too peaceful to be real.
It was the sea. And just like any ocean, even with his inhuman sight, he was unable to see an end to this body of water.
It shouldn't be that surprising. A desert had to end somewhere, yet this brought back some rather unpleasant memories of his true life, near the Waters of Death. Frowning in something akin to… weariness, perhaps? He brought a hand to his temple as he stared out at the vast horizon.
He hasn't ran into anything for a while now, so there was no doubt that at the very least, he won't be attacked by another beast. But this? This wretched land has sealed his ability to call forth vehicles from his Gate. He could swim, though there was absolutelhy no telling how far he could go. This place is abnormal. A Servant cannot experience exhaustion, but he felt it clearly now.
For the first time in ages that cannot be kept proper track of, Gilgamesh of Uruk was forced to acknowledge that this is a troubling outcome. For the first time since he became the haughty and arrogant Servant in the service of the Grail, a sense of end that he had utterly chosen to forget, one that he had firsthand experience of during his actual lifetime, began to resurface, reminding him of the ephemeral meaning of life and existence.
The sun was setting, and its orange glow reflected beautifully off the ocean's darkening waters. He made that far. A few steps farther won’t matter at all - a few steps that he shall take, and he will stop completely once he reached the edge of the waters.
Dispelling his armor, the demigod got on his knees and extended a hand. The soothing waves were an inch away from the tip of his fingers, yet his arm remained immobile, incapable of reaching further out.
A grunt of disgust. To himself or to his situation, it was impossible to tell.
This was stupid. What the hell is wrong with him?
Without further hesitation, he reached out.
[The feed is cut before he is shown to touch the water. Feel free to comment, but he will NOT respond here. If you want a reply, forward it to the
voicemail - he is SRSLY not available atm. 8|;
EDIT: Otherwise, feel free to poke him in person for his fail
