HELLOW

So after writing nothing in here for a few months,
here's another advertisement for a show!

Short notice, but please, if you're available and within the general area of New Orleans, come out to The Dragon's Den on Tuesday at 6PM. It's a very early show, and we play a 20 minute set first off (which i wish was longer), followed by Avenue Rose, then The Powerchords, and closing with (STEVE E. NIX and) The Cute Lepers.

I've written countless blurbs about this over the past few months on various social networking sites, so here's a COPY/PASTE from bookface:

Pumpkin hasn't played a show since April or so! Alex & Mike were finishing up school, and Leigh and Jeff were fighting crime, so no time for music. This show marks our "TRIUMPHANT RETURN" to actively playing shows, and what a lineup!

FIRST OFF but PLAYING LAST, we have The Cute Lepers (http://www.myspace.com/thecutelepers), easily one of the best punk bands active today. Steve E. Nix from The Briefs formed this band while The Briefs are on hiatus. Similar musically but in my opinion superior to The Briefs, The Cute Lepers have recently released an album without a single bad track on it in "Can't Stand Modern Music." Look it up, SERIOUSLY.

The Cute Lepers are touring with The Powerchords (http://www.myspace.com/thepowerchords) and Avenue Rose (http://www.myspace.com/avenuerose), two excellent punk bands. The Powerchords remind me a lot of Buzzcocks, SERIOUSLY one of the best bands to emerge from the initial spawning of punk music, and I wouldn't make a declaration like this about The Powerchords were it not valid. Avenue Rose is high-treble punk/rock from Olympia, WA full of melodic vocals and ENERGY.

We're Pumpkin (http://ww.myspace.com/pumpkin), and we have a few new things planned for our 20 minute set!

The show starts with Pumpkin at 6PM SHARP, so feel free to arrive early. Considering all that's GOIN' ON around then, I realize that it is hard to make it out for a 6PM show, but we'd seriously appreciate any attendance, because we've got to pay these guys!

Admission is only $5!

Feel free to e-mail leigh at zombie@cox.net or LEAVE A MESSAGE HERE for any information!

Thanks!

IN CASE UR WONDERIN:
Things have been pretty hectic but mostly good lately. The following are highlights...!

- Tourné and I have been dating for almost a year now, and I couldn't be happier. I am so absolutely lucky to have found such a brilliant girl whose brains are basically stewing in the same pool of radioactive waste as mine are. It is impossible for me to see myself without seeing her as well, and as borderline creepy as that is, it's truth, and I'm so glad we're together "AFTER ALL THESE YEAR."

- Pumpkin has been a full band for well over a year now, and I'm actually getting good at bass, surprisingly. In time, we'll get the group songwriting process ironed out and put out HIT AFTER HIT, but right now our conflicting schedules don't allow for the 'JAMMING' to happen much. We've put together two new songs in the past 4 months, and they both rule. Everyone in this band is as cool as Snoopy, the slightly anthropomorphic dog from "Peanuts."

- Puccino's hired me back in March, and I was fired in May for no reason I could understand. Did I write about that? The dude straight up lied to me about his reason for firing me, likely because he was either intimidated by the owner's affinity for me and didn't want to lose his job or see me as his superior in any way. Or he just didn't want to pay $10/hr when he could get lesser quality labor for $3 cheaper. Whatever, SCREW 'EM.
- I worked at a pizza place in Kenner for three days. They could not afford to keep me on staff, but it was for the best, because Kenner is pretty much the worst place in all of the Greater New Orleans area. I was glad to not work there anymore.
- RegiSMELLI's in Elmwood hired me as a pizza cook two weeks ago, and I've been there since. It's a pretty good job, though the pay is pretty horrible. I haven't been paid yet, but with this, paired with a job at ANITA'S BURGERS in Boutte, I'll finally have some "money."

My summer was basically hanging out with Tourné, playing some WOW WHICH I HAVEN'T PLAYED SINCE JULY 31, eating a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and sometimes playing bass.

BUT BACK TO SCHOOL TUESDAY OK IDIOT

"BYE"!
