Well, I was going to head out to do some shopping tonight, but since the weather has decided to be cold and gross, I shall stay here, digesting my toothsome dinner, and write in various forms and purposes.
It's been kind of a nutty few weeks here. I honestly don't remember my last posting, but it is NanoWrimo time, and I have been giving a mostly earnest effort on that front, and I'm so close to achieving my goal (which, granted, is WAY less than 50K, but still), and if I quit screwing around I'm sure I could finish it tonight. Maybe I will. Maybe I'll write tonight and tomorrow, and finish with 32K. It's a mystery.
Work's been work as usual. Super busy, trying to keep things afloat, and I really do need to ask my manager for a break from all my accounts. I have kind of a lot, and they keep me busy, and if they all want something at once, I may lose control and panic quite a bit. I'm really not good in an emergency. I'm very prone to hysterics and not staying grounded. I would not have made a good fighter pilot. Oh, well. I still have cowboy and milkmaid open as options. At least my customers have been pretty nice the last few weeks. One can only hope the holiday cheer will keep everybody sunshiny. And my performance review is coming up, and I hope I filled the form out correctly, but my dad always said it doesn't matter too much. We'll just see.
Enough of work, on to dancing! I'm quite keen about the dance scene since the last couple of weeks. I applied for the master class, and we'll see how that goes. I don't know, I think it could be fun. Learning stuff is always fun for me. And I like hanging with those people, Nate and Christy usually bring good times. I took their good looking lindy hop class which was a lot of fun and good exercise. I need to get back on my regimen. Maybe make a serious effort at establishing a good pushup-situp-yoga routine. Couldn't hurt. But anyway.
Have to start flossing again too. I swear, I'm the worst.
Uh, just had Thanksgiving, also brilliant times. I got out of work early on Wednesday, hung out with Ben for the rest of the afternoon, saw my old workhusband Rusky, who is quite well, and of course is holding his Christmas party the same night as the other three places I need to be at. December 11th apparently is the night for a soiree. Thanksgiving Day my big brother and his lovely wife arrived and we had a super family holiday together! Seriously, despite the ridiculous amount of football we put up with, it was lovely. It was nice to talk to my big brother, who still makes me laugh. I also cannot get over how much he loves my sister-in-law, and how sweet they are together, even after being joined at the hip quite some time now. I really hope my husband is that good to me, in that rare eventuality.
Oh, and Friday I went to swing dancing as usual, to celebrate the Black Friday Turkey Trot...or more importantly Jillian's birthday. I also love the new Jitterbugs dance bag, because it holds much more stuff that my old bag, and more conveniently too. Jillian's rather poofily-wrapped bday present fit neatly in with my shoes, extra socks, water bottle, etc. And on a whim and because Amanda asked me to, I decided to try my hand at the Jack and Jill dance contest. And made it to the second round somehow. I thought, wow, what a fluke.
And then my partner and I won. Whaaaaaaaat?
I apparently managed not to screw it up. Forrest, my partner, probably deserves most of the credit, but I did keep up with him, stayed in time, and smiled a lot. I didn't think we were particularly impressive, and we were up against tough ten-year-old competition, but apparently it was enough. Woo! Now I can refer to myself as an awarding-winning dancer. And Christy smacked my ass when I was getting water, so my weekly quota of ass smackage has been fulfilled, and technically I think this means I can start calling her Coach.
We also did the Chicken Dance, and Jillian got a Blues Brothers tune for her birfday jam. Right on.
Holy crap, December is almost here, and I need to figure out what to get people for Christmas, and actually manage to get it. Oh, boy...and now time to get Ro and her team to defeat the evil villain before he destroys that planet or something.
