Yes, I know I haven't been on here in a while.  Life gets in the way sometimes, and I've spent the last three days feeling like I was chained in front of a computer screen, and that's a little hard on the body and mind.  But I'm here now.  Bam.

Who had a brilliant Halloween?  That's right, this girl!  Friday at work I was the office friendly witch, in my black outfit that I would normally wear there, with an awesome pair of stripey knee socks and my pointy stilettoes.  I think I amuse my coworkers when I do stuff like that because I'm usually so quiet and just a good kid, but every once in a while I throw in a surprise.  Am I surprising?  I have no idea.  Anyway, Friday night was the Halloween party at JNO for which I was psyched because Cecily and I actually managed to pull off Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly together.  I was more than a little annoyed at all these people who didn't know who Grace Kelly was (heathens) but as my mother and I discussed, unless you're a Hitchcock fan or a citizen of Monaco, you probably wouldn't know who she was.  But people who did know thought I was lovely.  Nate the dance instructor grabbed me for a dance and started doing all these steps I didn't recognize, but he led me through them and told me they were steps that Grace Kelly would've danced.  Cecily was also spot on for Audrey Hepburn.  I mean, for a simple budget and such, she was absolutely perfect I think.  It also helps that she looks like Audrey.

Also the shim sham of the various dressed up characters at swing dancing makes me SO happy.

Saturday I did my domestic goddess duty of cleaning my room a bit, finishing my laundry, and prepping a bit for NanoWrimo.  Went to dinner with my parents, and we've decided that eating out during a Husker game is the way to go.  Nobody was there, the food came quick, and the most you have to put up with is every TV tuned to college football.  Even the people watching it are so enthralled that they tend to keep quiet.  I didn't pay much attention, football lost all appeal to me after four years of high school.  I keep tabs on my old college, only because someone is bound to ask me about and then I can look like I know what I'm talking about it.  *rolls eyes*  Whatever.

Saturday night was Merinda's Halloween party.  I will say this for Merinda, she is both wonderful as a person, and is crazy for Halloween.  I went to her house mid-October and it was already blinged out for Halloween.  She decorated the ballroom for JNO, which was impressive.  And her Halloween party involved a fog machine, I can't really say much more than that.  I came this time as a sassy pirate, Lee was my fellow sassy pirate.  When I got there, surprisingly early, the first person I ran into was Ben, in his freaking creepy panda mask.  I don't know why it's so creepy, it has this blank-staring pair of red eyes, and of course Ben has to play it up by getting too close, so it was amusing, but after two minutes you're telling him to shove off.  Eric's Lt. Dangle from Reno 911! was also impressive, but people got disturbed by that too.  I think I was more bothered by his mustache than the short-shorts, but that's just me.

I got to the party at about 7:30 and got home at 4:30.  I think I'm starting to actually have a smidge of a life.  It was a good party, Merinda smacked my ass, Eric threw over me his shoulder, Lee accused me of being a werewolf, I got to swing out to "Rock the Casbah", quite good times.

Sunday I managed to get up at a reasonable hour, went shopping with Mom and bought actual fitting work pants.  Expensive, but worth it, and once again I was shocked to find that I've dropped a size 4.  I don't get it.  In fact, I think it has less to do with me, and more to do with the Gap relabelling their sizes.  And I'm not trying to be annoyingly modest, I honestly don't notice these things about myself.  It never really hits me that I might be slender or pretty or stylish or smart, because I'm so used to going unnoticed for those things.  I don't know, it just doesn't seem like I should be any of those things.  I tend not to see them for myself.

Anyway, that's all for now.  Eventually I post about this week's fun adventures in Nano, and the cluster*bleep* that was work.  Woo.
