Ah, yes, another thrilling Saturday night in my life... yes, take-out and the Doctor Who season finale with my mom. And now I'm on here enjoying the iTunes, and later I might go out and look at the waxing moon. Yep, my life as a nocturnal hermit is off to a roaring start.
Well, really, it's not so bad. Just not a whole lot of action, but that's okay. That's for next weekend, because PrincessCon 2010 is on! Less than a week! I have been in touch with my fellow princesses, plane ticket's arranged, still deciding on the wardrobe requirements for the trip, Lady Gaga outfit is assembled (more or less), and the flasks are all set for decorating. Bam. And I'm going to miss two of the worst days of work, but hey, I'm on call this week, and I've put up with a lot fires the last couple of weeks while everyone else was on vaca, so now it's my turn. We'll find out who's vital. According to my manager on my performance review, I'm pretty awesome. Trustworthy, committed, cheerful, responsible, that's me! Of course, two days after my review, I get an email saying that I'm getting a new manager, but it's nothing strenuous. Instead of Joe, I will now have Dave, which is fine. Dave's cool, except he scheduled a meeting for Monday morning when I will undoubtedly be behind and panicked. Well, I guess I can just login tomorrow night and hack through some work before I head in the next day. Today was surprisingly calm, no emails in the work queue, but it's Saturday in July, people probably want to enjoy themselves. They should. And hopefully they won't decide to make calls to the Batphone in the middle of the night. Yuck.
Anyway.
Mom and I hung out today. My little bro's currently on vaca himself, and Dad went to visit his parents for the weekend, so it's just Mom and me. Yesterday she cleaned and I went swing dancing, and then I came home and we stayed up really late watching the Incredibles. That was fun. And today she wanted to do a little shopping, and asked if I'd like to tag along. And once again, I go out with no plans to buy anything, just check things out, and wind up buying all this stuff. Seriously, I have issues. But I also have a cute new dress! I tried on about eight cute dresses, but could only afford one, but I like it a lot. I also have to remember not to go in there, because the clothing is cute and expensive, and the employees are lovely. I also have reservations about four inch heels with platforms. I know they're all the rage, and they do make my legs look amazing, but so many tripping hazards! Then on to buying a work shirt, which was fairly reasonable and comfortable, and finally the Gap where I rocked another sale. I'm more or less set for the next few weeks, hopefully more like months. I'm going on vacation next week, I need to stop spending money.
And I don't know, just hoping to survive to next Friday. Oh, I can't wait. The excitement hasn't fully hit me yet, but I've got stuff on my mind. And I'm kind of tired, but I did only get about seven hours of sleep last night and I've been pretty tired these last couple of weeks. Too many carbs, not enough exercise, too much stress, not enough serenity. Bleck. And I'm not going to see Lee for a month! Crap. It's entirely possible that my shoes will get thrown in her absence, but perhaps Cecily can keep me sane as well as she can. I had so much fun talking to Lee, Cecily, and Jillian last night. Nothing like kindred spirits to make up for the giant pains in one's life. And my cousin's wedding is fast approaching, and that'll be a fun get-together.
Oh, my gosh, August is almost here and there's so much to do. Dude.
