I hate Brandi Carlile
I was so excited that she's touring!
AND she is coming to Chicago!
BUT her Chicago show sold out...FAST.
So...I bought a ticket to her Milwaukee show and a round-trip Megabus ticket to get there.
The bad part...I'd get there super-early for the show, and the megabus doesn't leave until 6am after the show. I'd have to find a place to hang out allll night. (The show starts at 8pm, so lets say it will end at 11...then I have to just chill in Milwaukee for 6 hours in the middle of the night until the bus arrives.)
I figured I'd do it. An adventure, ya know? Well, then I decided that it might be kinda lonely. I invited a few friends to come along. No one could. "~sigh~ she's my fave singer...I guess I'll just go anyway!" Then...KERRY says she can go! Yayayayay! An adventure with her...I'm game any day! We haven't had one yet! Then she had to cancel two days ago. And the concert is Thursday. I'm not blaming her at all. She has important things to do, and also felt really bad for cancelling. But anyway, I felt a lot more at ease that someone was coming with me, and now I'm back to going alone.
If only it wasn't the middle of the night that I have to wait for that bus...because I don't know Milwaukee at all and I'll be so tired! But I'm tentatively still doing it. Consider it "pencilled in". I mean...I can't exactly sell the tix. The show isn't sold out and they're siitting in WI at will-call. And I bought two round-trip megabus tickets. They were super cheap, but also hard to get rid of. They'd be such a waste. All of it. So yeah...pencilled in.
THEN it was announced last week that Brandi will be playing a free set tomorrow (hey- today, actually! Wed, Apr 8th) at the Apple store in Chicago. Yay! I can check her out for free. I switched my work shift from open to close so I can make it to the Apple store during the afternoon.
NOW I go on Craigslist, and I could easily just get tix to the show tomorrow night in Chicago. NOW that I have tix waiting for me in Milwaukee, NOW that I will be seeing her during the day so I am NOW working at NIGHT. GRRR!!!! Taryn even suggested I find tix online to the sold out show, but I thought the prices would be ridiculous, and I didn't want to take the risk of not getting tix at all. GRR. I'm a stupid non-city girl who doesn't know how these things work yet.
I wish I'd never bought those stupid Milwaukee tickets, and that I was just opening tomorrow and seeing her right down the street at the Lakeshore Theatre (seriously...blocks away from Poopybelly) with tix I bought on Craigslist.
Nuts.
