For how the entire 'wolf hiding under the illusion of a human' works and how it affects Toboe's interactions with his enviroment and the residents.

Right, everything from this point onward revolves around the fact that Toboe is a wolf hiding behind an illusion that makes him seem like a normal human. Sadly, there are really no clear canonical guidelines as to how the whole 'seems like a human but is really a wolf' thing works. So here are some guidelines to keep it easier for both me and those who are interacting with Toboe. Keep in mind that these are mostly drawn from conclusions, headcanon and quite abit of adjusting around to suit what is needed for this sort of RP. Obviously, this will most likely remain a work in progress for quite a long while yet.

1. Seeing the wolf

Toboe's illusion is usually foolproof against humans. So unless you're animal, plant, mineral or higher being in some way, shape or form, or have considerable skill in picking apart illusions or if you happen to be really drunk, you'll be seeing a boy of about fourteen years or so running around as opposed to a red wolf. To be more specific:

- If you're an animal, talking or not, you'll see a wolf.
- If you're a higher existence, ie. a god or a spirit or IDK something like that you'll see a wolf.
- If you're in between, like part human and part whatever existence is covered in the above two points, you'll see both the wolf and the illusion.
- You're Digimon, Pokemon or whatever else -mon, you'll see a wolf.
- If you're an old drunk man that's obsessive over hunting and killing all wolves, you'll see a wolf. And probably try to blow its head off as well.
- 'Considerable skill in picking apart illusions' usually applies to people with psychic powers.
- While humans can see through the illusion, you'll also see the illusion. Like, you can choose to see him as a human or a wolf, whichever make you more comfortable.
- The rest of the normal humans get to see only the pretty boy.
- Unless, of course, you get enough information to deduce that Toboe isn't what he seems. Once your mind accepts all that, you might see the illusion flicker briefly, periodically to show the wolf underneath before it slides into place again. This is because the illusion can't fool your mind all that well anymore.
- Even if you know he's a wolf, and can see through the illusion under normal circumstances, if you refuse or shy away from the idea you'll probably only see the illusion. It's a case of mind over matter, as people only see what they want to believe. You've choosen to see only the human, not the wolf.

Buuuuut, anyone looking at his reflection, shadow or even what he leaves behind when walking over soft ground will see a wolf, a silhouette of one or pawprints, in that order. But then again most normal humans aren't that observant are they?

2. The semantics of the illusion

Annnd here is where sticky part starts. In canon, it is stated that the human form is nothing more than an illusion. This is further proven when in canon, the wolves grip something by chomping down on it with their teeth. And when they fight, even if the 'humans' seem to have no weapons they'll leave wounds in the form of teeth and claw marks. So we can conclude that the illusions only affect the sense of sight, and are in no way physical... right?

Nuh-uh. Canon also shows the one of the wolves wearing sunglasses and using a knuckleblade. We'll set aside the argument of whether those things were real or part of the illusion for now. And another one can in some way stay perched on a ladder while poking his head out of a manhole.

So in order save everyone including myself from a headache and make all our lives easier, I'll be going with these explainations:

A) How it works
In full physical and mental health, Toboe's human illusion can almost be called another form. It's solid, and the hands can be used to preform motions all human hands are capable of like holding, touching, grabbing, picking up stuff and whatnot without the side-effect of having wolf teeth involved. The only things that make it a projection and not a 'form' is the fact that it can be seen through. As stated above, those that have seen through the illusion can opt to see the wolf or the human. And what they see is what they touch.

The illusion of being a human is maintained by Toboe's focus. If something happens to affect it, like him being in a state of extreme mental duress, the solidity of the illusion disappears. The illusion is still there; when you look at him you'll see a human but when you touch him, you'll touch the wolf. And when the brain makes the connection that you're touching a wolf the illusion will be useless against you and you'll see the wolf, regardless of whether Toboe is projecting the illusion or not. And when Toboe is barely keeping his focus, the illusion will flicker like a bad video. One second you're looking at a boy, the next you're seeing a wolf. Rinse and repeat.

Unless Toboe wills it, the illusion will only drop completely under dire circumstances, such as when Toboe is about to die. At this point, it's most likely that he can no longer be saved, unless you have some rather strong healing spells. And of course, dead wolves can't do anything. The body will be a wolf, not a human.

Naturally, Toboe can also drop the illusion completely and appear as a red wolf to everyone. He won't be doing that very often though, as maintaining the guise of a human has become second nature for him.

B) Getting hurt
A human is taller than a wolf. So if you shoot at Toboe's head, will you miss? Actually, you won't. Since all the injuries he gets on his wolf body is mirrored on the human illusion as well, each part of the wolf body corresponds to its equivalent on the human body of the illusion. Therefore if you hurt the human illusion, the corresponding part of the wolf body will receive the injury. And the appearance of the human illusion always corresponds to how damaged the wolf under it is. If Toboe appears bruised, scratched and has multiple rips and tears on hid dirty clothing, then yes, he's hurt. As those injuries heal, the human illusion will repair itself accordingly, ie. the tears disappearing from the clothes and the clothes becoming less dirty.

And uhhhh I think that's all for now? Comment to this post if you have any questions, see something wrong or think of something I could add here. I'll appreciate the help, and will try my best to reason out all the kinks and mistakes. And if something pops up that we cannot figure out the answer to, we can always blame the Malnosso.
