Wiki linky Personality:
Toboe is the youngest of the pack, still considered a child in years by both wolves and humans. Raised as a pet by an old woman he called ‘Granny’ since he was very young, his sheltered upbringing left him with a naïve and somewhat idealistic outlook of the world in general. Having relied on his previous owner for both food and shelter, Toboe has next to no survival skills, though the fact that he managed to survive on scavenging and occasional acts of kindness from humans showed the ability to adapt and some measure of resourcefulness.
Toboe is a very social being. He doesn’t like being alone, and warms up to people very easily because his youth hasn’t taught him to shed his innocent and trusting nature. His mindset is greatly affected by the people around him, or more accurately the people that means something to him, particularly those that are important to him like his pack and Cheza. Without them, he’s timid, easily spooked and even more easily cowed, like when he was trying to survive by himself in Freeze City. All his drive and determination, even his courage always stems from the people that mean something to him, somehow it always goes back to ‘it’s for them’. For example, when he manages to drive off the crows so he could scavenge for food when he was always the one that was driven away previously; it was because he wanted to prove Tsume wrong, he wanted to prove that he could survive by himself. And in front of the other wolves and Cheza he’s always eager to please and constantly seeks their approval of him, much like the pup he is. He is also reluctant to show any weakness such as fear or hesitance in front of the pack like when they jumped from the wall surrounding Freeze City, he always insists that it wasn’t that he was scared to jump, he was ‘only preparing himself’. It is obvious that he desperately wants to live up to the expectations of how a true wolf should be like, strong, fearless and confident. He knows that he’s the youngest and weakest of them all, especially with the nickname of ‘runt’ over him, but all the same he always tries his best to not let all those things bring his morale down.
Out of all the other members of the pack, Toboe is most attached to Tsume because the older male was the first wolf he’d ever met other than himself and thus left the deepest impression on him. Coupled with what he heard of the other wolf from the crows and the circumstances of their first meeting in which Tsume saved Toboe from the wolf hunter Quent, Toboe saw in Tsume what he wanted to be, a wolf that was tough and fearless, one that managed to survive and even thrive in the city, and even had human comrades. Even when he saw Tsume for the sort of person he really was and the illusions of perfection fell away the real Tsume that Toboe observed deep down under all facades only cemented the young wolf’s resolve to stay close to the older, to the extent that if forced to choose, Tsume’s importance was greater than that of the pack’s in the earlier days before the pack became close-knit. After the bonds between the pack were firmly cemented, the tie between Toboe and Tsume is still the closest out of all his bonds with the members of the pack.
Because of his youth, Toboe has none of the jaded nature that all of the other, older wolves have. Time has not had a chance to tarnish his innocence and his ability to hope, or his optimism. He acts more like a puppy than a wolf, all eager and curious, preferring to be cheerful rather than brood about the present. He’s the most enthusiastic about their journey, and also the most confident that they would eventually reach Paradise. His brand of unwavering belief is rather different from Kiba’s, for instead of stemming from a deeper instinct within, Toboe’s belief is more of a blind faith, a completely optimistic hope. And free from the ravages of time, Toboe has not yet found any real need to hide any secrets. He is very expressive; his face reflects anything and everything he’s feeling like an open book without any pretenses. Naturally, lying is something he’s poor at, even his attempts to hide anything are usually quite easily seen through just by observing his expressions and body language. He is also rather sensitive, especially to what the others say about him, easily getting hurt or sad at their words. He shows a certain measure of resilience though, always bouncing back quite quickly.
In his own way, Toboe could be considered the strongest in the pack. With his unwavering beliefs and the pure determination and fire his youth affords him, Toboe has unconsciously become the glue that holds the pack together, and the catalyst that helped strengthened the bond between all four of the wolves. Because he dislikes conflict and Hige usually doesn’t care for the job all that much, Toboe usually attempts to play mediator and tries to keep the peace in the pack. And his want for everyone to stay together makes his determined to keep the pack intact at all cost, as evidenced by how he went after Tsume to convince him to rejoin the pack when the older male left. And he has the greatest empathy and tolerance among the members of the pack, accepting humans for what they are, even feeling affection towards them despite their actions towards him, something Tsume, Kiba or even Hige can’t comprehend. His inner steel shows itself whenever the members of his pack are in danger, and the drive to protect them will override any and all fear he’s feeling to replace it with a protective ferocity. He’ll willingly put his life at risk, as long as whoever he’s trying to protect remains safe.
The most important thing to remember about Toboe is that he is a wolf, no matter how human-like he may look or seem. That is why the way he acts and his reasoning will be different from a human’s at times. He may have been raised by a human since birth, but that does not make him privy to the way they think. And so there will be times where he cannot comprehend to the reasoning behind human actions.
Strengths: :
- As a wolf, Toboe surpasses any ordinary human physically. He has superior sight, sense of smell and hearing, especially the latter since it seems that his sense of hearing is the strongest in the pack. Like all other wolves, he’s also perfectly capable of jumping long distances whether horizontally or vertically, up or down and landing unharmed. He has high endurance, being able to run long distances without rest and go for long periods of time without food, though this aspect is affected by his youth as evidenced by how he can’t hold out for as long as the other, older wolves can. The full moon can heal his wounds and stave off his hunger to an extent as long as he’s under its light.
- He’s a very honest person; he doesn’t like it when there are secrets and doesn’t keep any himself. This might be because of the innocence afforded to him by his youth, but even after he’s seen the world and truly experience how harsh it can be he still remains true to himself, his feelings and opinions and the people about him, right up to his death.
- His determination is not just driven by optimism; he truly has an inner strength within him that is unwavering. That strong will manifests in the way he believes in things, once his mind is set he’ll hold to that belief until truly proven otherwise, be it his trust in his pack mates, his faith in humans or the hope of reaching paradise.
- He’s a very forgiving person, as evidence by how he treats Blue and Quent regardless of their history of unprovoked attacks against him and the rest of the pack. He genuinely cares about and looks up to Blue when she joined the pack, and saved Quent from freezing to death even though he knew that the man would only continue trying to kill wolves the next time they met.
- He has some knowledge of herbs, which can be seen when he treats Kiba’s wounds after his skirmish with another pack of wolves.
Weaknesses:
- He’s too sensitive at times; and easily hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a high opinion of himself. He knows that he’s young and inexperienced, and that he’s not as fearless and strong as he would like to be. That fact is especially apparent when he compares himself to the other members of the pat, all of which are older and more experienced than him, and he can’t help but feel inferior, especially when they call him ‘runt’.
- His age, coupled with his sheltered up bringing has left him with very little survival skills. Even though he has grown a lot on the journey towards paradise, the fact remains that he had the support of his pack most, if not all of the way, and that support is the source of most of his motivation and bravery. It remains to be seen whether he can not just survive, but thrive in an environment without any support whatsoever from anyone.
- His eager to please nature and enthusiasm might seem annoying and nosy, particularly to serious characters or those with no patience for ‘happy’ people.

Third Person:
A wolf slunk through the forest as silently as it could, an air of frightened wariness about it. But any normal human would only see a young teen clad in the garb of New Feathers looking around with a fearful expression as he picked his way through the underbrush with a surprising lack of noise, his left hand rubbing at the wrist of the opposite limb almost absent mindedly even as he walked.
Toboe finally came to a stop at the bank of a river, bending down to get a drink of water. This forest, wherever it was, was really creeping him out. It was obviously the territory of another wolf; that much he could gather from scenting the air; and the scents that this wolf had left to mark its territory were all screaming ‘GET OUT THIS IS MY PLACE’. The large paw prints he’d come across earlier didn’t help with his nerves either; he didn’t even know that wolves could be that big.
Another unconscious rub to his right wrist had him looking down at said appendage, an upset expression replacing the prior wariness. He’d lost his bracelets along with his clothing at some point, though he didn’t know how that was possible when his clothing weren’t really real, just part of his human illusion. But those bracelets, the only thing he had left of Granny, were very much real and very much mourned.
The ears of the wolf reflected in the river drooped miserably at the thought. Even the small white wings, or what little he could see of them from this angle anyway were drooping, echoing his mood. The wolf let out a miserable whine, echoed as a sigh by the human illusion of it.
“This isn’t Paradise… This can’t be Paradise.” Toboe looked up at the half-moon he could see through the gaps in the network of branches overhead, hugging his knees to himself as a cold breeze rustled the leaves and his hair, blowing it into his eyes.
“Tsume… Kiba… Hige… Cheza… Blue… I wonder if they’ve managed to find Paradise yet…” A tightening of his arms, furious blinking as he felt the tears getting ready to show themselves.
“I miss them already…"
