After leaving work "early" at 5:30pm last Wednesday all i did was work with the Smooch on two separate catering events. First was dropped off that night. While the other was worked on till 2am. The turkey thawing and brining, potato peeling, and other prep work for the mies en place. Was supposed to get up at 7 but got up at 8 instead. Prepped turkey and placed in oven to partially cook.
i spent all day on Tday helping the Smooch with the catering event - cooking someone else's Tday dinner. An oven issue really set us back. House was amazing with a patio that overlooked the Phoenix mountains, Mummy mountain, and the head of Camelback mountain. Same day went to ASU game feeling exhausted but not hungry. My stomach didn't feel well all day so i didn't eat - some stomach issue which i'm not sure has settled down yet or not. Spent time with family while at the game since we missed out on the usual Tday dinner together. We lost bad unfortunately. First Tday in which i never had Tday day dinner (as far as i can remember but maybe there was another one in which i was too sick to eat.) Which was just as well with my stomach. There was a point i did get hungry that night and i had a mexican pastry. Seemed like the only thing i could handle.
Slept in till 2pm on Friday. Did nothing but got a call from my dad asking for help putting up his Xmas lights. Just wasn't up for it though. We already had tickets to go to the Luminarios at the botanical garden (bought the tickets last Sept.) i always try to pick a night of the full moon. Especially at moon rise but the lunar calender wasn't helpful this year. So we went earlier then usual this year because of it and timing was still off so the moon was high already when we finally got there. Event was sold out. Was cold but not as bad as last year. Lots of people coughing and were sick. First year the event used cheesy plastic bags instead of paper ones?! And the event is supposed to be Xmasy and yet only one lounge group sang an Xmas song. Just one song! There were fewer performers then in years past. Very odd and all the performers were pretty rowdy and loud which i really didn't like for such a somber, 'festive' event. We will certainly be sending some nasty letters their way. At least the bell ringers were there and they were packed. After that we didn't stay much longer. Took some nice pics. Liked the one new trail they added but was mostly disappointed. We then left to eat at Cowboy Ciao in Old Town. That was nice.
Woke up sick on Saturday, super stuffy, and did a partial cleaning of the house but mostly was resting and watching movie after movie with the Smooch. Really liked the movies too - if only i could remember the titles. Last Kiss was one of them. One was an Xmas movie with Mathew Broderick.
Sunday i felt much better except for the stomach. Helped the Smooch shop, clean, and restock the cafe. It's a lot of work but i do enjoy it. My feet and legs sure don't afterward though. We finished by 9pm and went to Houston's for a snack. i braved eating smoked salmon and potato soup. So far so good still with the stomach.
i'm supposed to be working on some project but so far nothing. Boring old cad standard stuff.
It's cold out, 52F. The sky is cloudy with a wonderfully drab gray sky.
Thank the dark lord for coffee. Was in a real stupor until i got a cup in me.
