National Full/Half Marathon in Washington DC
After reading that insane_bassist was also planning on running the National Half next weekend, I went a-searching through entries, and it looks like we have a fairly sizable group going! Who is planning on racing? I don't want to mess with anyone's pre-race routine, but I'd love to actually meet some of you in person and see some friendly faces before the race starts (a few of my friends are being awesome and are coming to the finish line, but these are Not Pre-Dawn People).
Also, just a general opinion question: Almost every race I've run, it's been stipulated beforehand that headphones are not allowed. And yet, every time, I see people hooked up to their I-pods. How seriously do people actually take the rule? What do you think about running with headphones in a race: is it a d-bag move, or does nobody really care? I would totally run with my I-pod if I could, but I'm a huge chicken and would probably stuff it back in my bag before the race even started if anyone official even looked in my general direction the wrong way ;)
