marathon training?

So I am doing the New York Marathon in roughly six weeks. I'm a little behind in the training (I did 15 miles this weekend, I should have done 20) my plan from here on out is to keep adding the mileage up to 20 and sacrifice some of the tapering time. Does this seem like a good idea? I’m not particularly concerned with my time, I just want to finish the damn thing and not look like a total fool.

Any advice would be appreciated.
