1. Don't despair. You'll definitely still be able to do it -- those schedules have some padding in them. Despair will just make it worse.

2. My main question/suggestion is: what time of day do you run? The only way I can stick to my schedule is to run in the AM before work. That way nothing can come up to distract me as it would in the evening. This was NOT an easy switch for me to make, but it's the only way I can do it.

3. As for the weekend long runs, do you write down your mileage? I find that having a log to use -- even though I'm just following the schedule, makes me more accountable.

4. are you signed up for long races to use as long runs? There is the Manhattan 1/2 marathon next weekend, a long training run and an 18 mile race in september, and a few half marathons in october. I don't know about you, but if I pay money I am pretty much going to show up.

5. how about finding a running partner for the weekends? Try posting an ad on Craigslist, or on the NYRR site (this might be members only though).

6. this sounds lame, but i read running books when i lack inspiration. go to barnes and noble for 30 minutes some day and check out a marathoning book. it gets me psyched.
