It was Day's 21st birthday on Wednesday. We celebrated at Chipotle. Like any wise 21-year-old, she took the next two days off to party appropriately. My cousin is currently unemployed and offered to watch the girls for me. She's babysat them multiple times before, so she knew what she was getting into. She came over Monday morning for a practice run, to see how we do meals, what all of their sign language means. I expected the worst - having to come into work late, having to leave early, house a disaster. But no. The girls didn't cry either morning when I left, in fact, there wasn't any whining this morning like there usually is when both the nanny and I are home. Last night I even came home to a clean house! It's been fabulous. If nothing else, I know that I can switch out their childcare provider with little to no effect and even better, that I have a backup babysitter.
