I'm very sad another is leaving us--I think we're doing a good job to being on our way to being independent and doing anything and everything simply for our own enjoyment and not for anyone else--but I understand the disillusionment and people wanting to focus on their own endeavors.

*pets* Glad I'm not a student anymore. I must say, I was glad I was on vacation this week. I was hoping that I would ENJOY my vacation more, you know, have something to celebrate. Oh well.
So with you. We definetely gave her more credit than anyone else did, we thought that she could write a main couple that had several books of development and that was based on trust and respect.

Take comfort in the fact that geniuses usually get dismissed as nutjobs until they prove everyone wrong. ;)
What really chafes about the whole HP series is that Harmonians have always given JKR loads of credit. Anima, alchemy, symbolism, Jungian archetypes, red herrings, the whole shebang.
Then she just went and pissed on us and our theories, essentially saying, "SUCKERS! The books had the literary depth of a teaspoon! You fell for it!"

I'm a Draco fan, not an H/Hr shipper--and if it weren't for the R/Hr lunacy and the Gaunts I'd have been happy, because I don't mind H/G and I liked how Draco finally got some love--but she's been treating US like this for years.
Don't let her get you down.
There is always fic.
There are the friends you made.
I'm not going to hope that she'll pull her head out of her ass between now and the next book, because better a pleasant surprise than a bitter disappointment.
But you just have to ignore the interviews and write what you want to read. She's always been a complete jerk whenever someone sticks a mike under her nose. She thinks you're delusional, she thinks I'm mentally unbalanced and liable to grow up to be an abused wife. (Oops, I'm 41. Oh well.) Ultimately, though, it really only matters what she thinks if you care.
I'm not really a big HP fic person myself. I've read works by the always excellent goldy_dollar and a few others, but I primarily stick to forums and discussions.
The only reasons I'll be visible around fandom are my friends, whom I won't abandon. I have little respect for JKR's opinion (OMG!BICKERING!TENSION!TWUWUV!), which is why I'm quitting her series in the first place.
Thanks for the support, even though you're a Draco fan and by all rights should be my mortal enemy. :P

I didn't realize people would get so worked up over what amounts to me boycotting JKR and the "values" she's promoting to readers.
I'll be around on HF, and I'll still be doing art and maybe fics for my other interests. There is life beyond HP, after all. :P
