I'm learning a lot in my internship. I didn't expect to be learning how to produce, but, I pitched an idea for a benefit concert for Japan and Actor's Express, so I guess I walked into that. My mentor is super-supportive. I've also been challenged to perform during the benefit, so I'll be doing that, too. But don't worry, I'm not the main talent. ;)
------------
On April 23 at 8 p. m. at the Academy Theatre, the Think Global, Act Local! fundraiser offers a splendid opportunity to do good while listening to great music. All proceeds will be split between Japan and Actor's Express.
‘The Prestige’, featuring Jeff Blanks & Matthew Trautwein, is made up of Atlanta’s top Rock musicians who turn their considerable skills to playing classical music. Michael Richardson is a musician known for local bands Men of Melody and Mickle-A-Do. Melanie Parker is one of Atlanta’s leading actors and dancers and is a principle of Blast Off Burlesque! For this event she will be bringing her belly dance and swords to bear to convince people to donate! Amina McIntyre is a monologist who specializes in the absurd travesties of our daily lives.
Tickets are $10 on line and $15 at the door. All proceeds will be split between these worthy causes. Think globally and act locally to make a difference in the world -- and here's a chance to do it while having fun.
