Went to Whitby with Fisher, Claire and Cluff. Weather was nice until it pelted it down with rain. I bought large amounts of rock, which I am consuming and living off the extreme amounts of sugar that it contains. Would have prefered fish&chips though.
And now I am surprisingly chilly. So chilly, in fact, that i have cracked out my winter hoody and slipper socks. And shut the window.
West Cliff
Hauled my ass all the way up to the abbey and thus took a very nice photo of the west cliff from as far along the other cliff as we could manage.
Upriver
Taken from the same spot as the last picture, except this is the view up the River Esk.
Dunno
Cluff took this one. Not entirely sure why. Bless him.
Bluuuuue
Yet another picture taken from the same spot as the first two. Looked down the cliff and saw how clear and blue the sea was, and was thusly amazed as this is the North sea.
Abbey
Whitby Abbey, and many gravestones. I like the gravestone that is looming on the left edge of the picture.
We also sat here and had extensive discussions on the relative prices of the gravestones. Fisher and Cluff were most impressed by a slate one, until they spotted an iron one and were more impressed.
Sign, sea and cliffs
The sign is actually there because there used to be a bridge over to another bit of the harbour wall there but it fell down.
