Back to visiting things I haven't decided what to do with at all yet. I think I've pointed to the idea of Mara being sent off to battle before, but I'm still not sure how it comes about.
Mara walked to the edge of the encampment. Behind her, her companions began setting their tents among those already assembled. Mara ran a hand over the strap of her pack, but she couldn’t pry her gaze from the eerily silent field below.
“It will be dark soon.”
She spun to find Roul approaching.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.” She turned back to her view, though whether to see the field or keep her gaze from meeting Roul’s she couldn’t say.
“You’d best try.” He laid a hand on her shoulder. “You’re our secret weapon, after all.”
