They say that hindsight is 20/20, that everything becomes so much clearer after all is said and done. It's only been a month, but I know that everything has changed-I can look back on it now and think about everything I should have known but didn't.
I should have known that there's no such thing as a perfection in a human being, no matter how desperately I clung to the notion that she was a goddess incarnate.
I should have known that love isn't easy, and first love even more so.
I should have known that mind games are not a normal part of a relationship, and that my emotions are not something I should let people play with.
I should have known that whatever people say, prejudice and hatred of things that are different from you is never going away.
I should have known that people are cruel, that when you bring down your barriers and let them see the essence of who you are rather than who you let them think you are-I should have known that people don't want that, that they'd rather string you along and trick you and make you trick them because the truth is a scary thing that no one wants to face.
