MisfitsSummary: Jane really hates her undercover job.
Notes: I think some of you remember Doyle. I think I figured out how he fits into the whole story (though I still don’t know what information he has the Misfits so desperately need) and he’s involved in the action from the start. Year 1.
Jane was already in bed but still awake when Doyle came into the room. Her back was facing him and she didn’t turn around to look at him as he got undressed.
“Are you still not talking to me?” He sighed when he climbed into bed but she didn’t answer. What she really wanted to do was cry at the thought of being here with this horrible man but she had to keep going. When he reached for her under the blanket, she fought the urge to turn around and scratch his eyes out but instead, she just let his cold hand rest on her stomach.
“I’m sorry I said your sister’s a whore, but what’s the point of getting upset about it? We’ve both known her forever and you know I’m right about it. I probably shouldn’t have said it in front of everyone but still, get a grip.”
The comments about Shirley hadn’t bothered Jane in the slightest because as much as she disliked to think about it, Doyle was right. The reason she wasn’t talking to him was because she needed a break from him. The fact that she was using her younger sister’s ex-boyfriend to somehow gain access to Castellini probably made her even more of a whore but she didn’t care.
She was counting the days until Dennis came and got her out of this mess. Doyle would be behind bars where he belonged and she could go back to Tom and try to make amends, try to convince him that she hadn’t left because she wanted to, that it had been part of the job.
She shuddered as Doyle’s hand started to run up and down her body.
