Hi, I'm not a mod but I have been reading when I can.

I just wanted you to know the mods have been trying to tell you to put an exact wordcount in your individual posts. The wordcount on this is 1,005. Definitely not 200 to 300 words. If you're unaware how to do an exact wordcount it comes standard in any word processing software in the menu and typically under Tools or Options.

Hope this helps! Welcome to the comm. :3

Thank you. Did you have a comment on the story? I'm just going to put 1000+ from now on. It's part of a big document that is about 8000 words so i don't want to cut parts of it just to see how many words.

Thank you for telling me though. I hope you enjoyed the story.

I don't think you're entirely catching my drift. Granted, the entire story is all one document but each segment you post needs an exact wordcount in each post. You can do this is when you highlight the file to copy and paste your segment into LJ in your word processing program bring up the wordcount menu while still having the chosen segment highlighted. Jot that exact number in your post header. 1000+ is far too vague as is 500-ish and 200-300-ish. We RaTs Folks like to know exactly how much we're committed to before opening a story. XD

As for the story... I'm just kind of watching it unfold. A small critique...I'm not quite clear yet on the aspects of Tate having Christian values yet being somewhat unsympathetic to his overweight mentally ill sister. I'm all for humans acting like humans in stories... But typically readers have an idea of what a Christian is... And when Tate behaves contrary to his values it begins to suggest he's one of those guys that's only a believer on Sunday. All other times? He's a little hard to appreciate.

I fixed the problem. Yes, I misunderstood you at the beginning but I fixed it.

As for his being unsympathetic, the angle I was going for was that he doesn't know how to handle the situation and thus ignores it. It does come off a little unsympathetic.

Another angle I was going for was that Tate is reconnecting with his faith. He has to mess up a few times to get where he needs to be with it, but along the way he learns a few things about himself.

I really appreciate the critique. I love constructive criticism. I think it helps with growth. I'm sorry you don't like Tate. I hope to change that in upcoming segments. Probably not the next one but definitely what comes after that. Once again I thank you. Please continue reading and don't give up on Tate just yet.
