Summary: Alain Fontanus--rock star scientist.
Alain Fontanus had heard the things people said about him, and he really didn't care.
A madman? Maybe.
A deviant? Certainly.
A criminal? No, though he didn't consider himself above the idea.
He just wanted to be well-known for his work. He already had quite the reputation in his city, but he wanted people on the other side of the planet-no, the universe to know about him. Luckily, he knew exactly how he was going to do it.
“You're going to fly into a black hole?” One of the other scientists at the table laughed. “I mean, sure, everyone wants to, but-”
“But I'm actually going to.” Alain grinned. “I'd show you the plans, but I don't trust you as far as I can throw you.”
The scientist scoffed. “Oh, come on. No one else is dumb enough to try. You don't have to worry about anyone stealing your ideas.”
Alain idly played with one of his rings. The scientist was right. No one else wanted anything to do with his ideas.
...Which was pretty cool, because then he could rub them in their faces without fear.
He stuck his tongue out at the scientist. It was a childish gesture, but he didn't care. He was going to be fucking famous.
The scientist laughed again. “You're nuts, Fontanus.”
