When you say not to list, is it okay to point out that there is worse-than-usual cursing? Because I generally like to warn for use of "a particular c-word" if it crops up, since I personally find it to be a step beyond normal swearing (even the f-word). Should I change this to a more general warning instead?
I would say it is fine to say to say "Rating : R (for use of a certain c-word)" what I think is ridiculous is when people say "Rating : R (for repeated use of fuck)" because, well you've just used in public the very word you are warning against. I have seen people rate their pieces and then literally list out after the rating every curse word that they used in the piece.
And yes, I agree, like degrees of violence/sexual activity, there are different levels of cursing that deserve a larger degree of warning, and it is fair to give them such, though again I think most of us are mature enough not to flip out about the content of a story.
Mostly, it's about the casual cursing in people's cuts and summaries.
