Ugh.

So. Here we are, another pay day gone by, and me? I'm annoyed. Greatly annoyed.

See? Annoyed.

Now, you might be asking yourselves, "That's nice and all, but WHY are you annoyed?" Well, you see as part of my contract the school's supposed to deposit a chunk of my salary in my Canadian bank account. I gave HR all the details a month ago and, according to them, everything was good to go. Fast forward to earlier this week when, with pay day coming around, HR emails to remind me to bring in the cash amount for the transfer to my Canadian account. *head-desk* Ah, no. No, there's supposed to be a direct transfer of a certain amount and then I bring in whatever cash amount to supplement that just like all the other teachers do. So I went to HR and asked about this and their answer made zero sense. At all. I had to leave their office before I broke down in frustrated tears. Went back the next day, once calm had been restored and HR had had a chance to talk to Finance and get clarification on the issues. Turns out that yes, they can do the transfer like I said but there's a form I need to sign to give them permission. A form that only the head financier can hand over and she, of course, is hard to pin down at present. *sigh* So, this, obviously, got tabled.

Of course, I still wanted to send money home this month so, lucky me, I got to ask my Chinese partner-teacher to (once again) pop up early in the afternoon so I could duck out to the bank with the Finance girl (a minion not the head) to use my debit card and transfer funds home. It helped that I'd taken her morning lessons twice this week while the kiddies were practicing for tomorrow's Chinese New Year performance.

Incidentally, today was also the last day of lessons before the break. Seeing as how this morning the kids had that aforementioned practice, I had the kids finish their Three Little Pigs puppets and moved up Reward Day to show the kids Monsters, Inc.

In other news, and back-tracking some, on Tuesday Vicky brought her ferret over to see if he got along with Koda. They tried with Jaxon (their dog who spent the Christmas break with me) a couple weeks ago but he was just too hyper and excitable to get along with the kitty. Since he'll be needing to go to a kennel, Vicky asked if I might take Bandit (the ferret) to help her alleviate some of the costs. As it happened, I wanted a pizza night - Tuesday is discount day for Papa John's - so Vicky opted to combine two goals in one. While we (Vicky, Adam, and I) munched pizza and watched The Hunger Games, Bandit scampered about and explored the apartment while Koda tried to figure him out. The ferret did a lot better than the dog so it looks like Koda and I will have some company for the impending break. Since ferrets are a little outside my wheelhouse, I'm not sure how to feel about that. *gulp* Time will tell, I suppose.
