For Fuck's Sake, let it go!

I like Michael Jackson as much as the next 80's kid, but let it the fuck go.  Every time some celebrity dies, the world turns into a neverending smorgasbord to masturbating over their corpse ( Read more... )

Even Billy Mayes died. ; _ ;

I couldn't care less about MJ. I never liked his music, and he touched little boys (obv. in my opinion). I'm kinda glad he's dead, to be honest. Eh.

yeah, I heard about Billy Mayes, which sucks.

As for MJ, I loved his music, and inthe 80's and even early 90's, he did a lot for interracial relations, and was a well known peacekeeper, and actually did a lot of Good. as for touching little boys...I try to keep neutral on that one, becuase there was a lot of evidence for it, but it was never proved. In light of his death, I'd rather remember him for the good he did than the bad, and I hope the world can agree with me on that.

Hell, if I died tomorrow, what would you want to remember? 5 Times, or how good of a friend I was?

I'm kinda glad he's dead too, not becuase of my opinion of him, but becuase he was readily declining, and I didn't want to see him fall any further than he already had. it was in his best interest to die.

I dunno, I thought he was funny. His commercials always made me laugh. And he had the capacity to laugh at himself too.

They... kind of ARE better. They influenced MILLIONS of people around the globe, and made history (perhaps not to much Mayes, but he is fondly remembered). Could you claim that, if you died tomorrow?

not a chance, but that doesn't make my life any less valuable than his. (and let's not forget Jackson was a supposed child molester)

Fame doesn't make you a better person.

I happen to believe that his positives far outweigh his "supposed" negatives. But you know, if it's "supposed", why would you even bother writing that?

If you think the world should get over it that quickly... well, I hope your family only takes a day or two to get over your death. He's a person too, the fact that he is widely known doesn't make his death any less sad, and it most definitely does NOT mean that he deserves less of your respect.

Try to tell that to the kids and the parents of the kids he supposedly sexually abused. Not to mention, he paid the families very LARGE sums of money to settle out of court. If that doesn't seem guilty, I don't know what does.
