finally have internet again.
just got back from visiting nick's family in georgia. was lovely and amazing, as always. one day i want to see a conversation between my uncle cliff and nick's uncle steve (the uncle steve who coined the name "the olivinator" for me a year ago, and now refuses to put in the N, even though the name was his invention. according to him, it has always been, and shall remain, "the oliviator", but his entire family remembers the N and puts it in its rightful place. this is also the uncle steve of the famous very first words upon meeting me: "wow! you are MUCH better looking than i was expecting!!" he clearly knows how to work the ladies).
cleaning stalls for kendra tomorrow, which means i have to leave here by 6:15 am... lame, but i need the money.
starting another job tomorrow evening at dover saddlery... sounds good, and it's more money, which seems necessary right now.
grad school starts in a week and a half. i found out that professor gerli is my advisor, and that couldn't be more perfect. (google him.) i can't wait to start classes. i suppose i can wait for the feeling that everyone else is better than i am and all the work the classes will entail, but i'm sure i'll soon find out that we're all about the same, and the work always gets done in the end.
i'll also be teaching undergrad spanish... 101, 102, 201 or 202... two sections, same class. i find out what i get next monday. that will be even MORE money, so next month will be much better. in theory.
i miss my mom. and erin. and misty.
and tifanía, who celebrated a birthday yesterday... feliz cumpleaños, lady. i love you!
i think things are going well, mostly. living with nick is going really well. i'm glad to be making some money soon, glad to start a job that DOESN'T involve italian food or restaurants, excited about teaching/going to class again, glad to start getting back into a riding schedule, excited about the possibility of dance companies here, glad to be so busy i won't be able to breathe. wouldn't have it any other way, i suppose.
OH, and SARAH is MARRIED! i am really happy for her. it was my first completely non-cynical wedding.
