State Fair 2008
Well, Sonia, Marion, and I decided to take half days from our work on Thursday and hit the State Fair of Texas. All in all we had a good time. No, we didn't try the deep fried bacon, as tempting as that may sound *scratches head*. I didn't really venture past corn dogs. I did end up making a pretty cool purchase that I was able to try out last night. It is a Jalapeno Griller.
The one I bought is the same design as the one shown, except it only has 12 holes. I tried making some shrimp stuffed jalapenos, which turned out pretty badass! There is a learning curve involved with cleaning out the peppers and stuffing them. I wasted one or two jalapenos that ended up splitting open on me. One thing I'm doing different next time is I'm going to use some type of latex or kitchen gloves when messing with the peppers. My hands were burning quite a bit after messing with the jalapenos. If you like stuffed jalapenos, it's worthwhile to pick one of these up.
